Zizou Bergs vs Zhizhen Zhang Prediction

Zizou Bergs is enjoying a good start to 2025 and he will have been delighted with the win over Nuno Borges in the round of 16 on Thursday. After Borges pegged him back by winning the second set tiebreak, Bergs resumed control and won the deciding set 6-2 to progress.

The Belgian now meets China’s Zhizhen Zhang who is coming off his own thrilling three-set win over fourth-seed Hubert Hurkacz. Similar circumstances to Bergs’ win in that Zhang won the first set, Hurkacz won a second-set tiebreak before Zhang kicked on and took the decider 6-3.

They now meet each other for the second time on the ATP Tour after they met in Shanghai last season. Bergs won that match 6-4 6-3 and it will give him a little psychological boost coming into this one.

Bergs is the marginal favourite and that is not surprising. He has played some really good tennis so far this year including a run to the final in the ASB Classic in Auckland and we fancy him to progress here.
