These two players have already faced each other twice this year on the hard court, both of those being three-set affairs in Marseille and Auckland respectively. Zizou Bergs came out on top each time and that must have a positive impact psychologically on the Belgian heading into this third contest between the pair in 2025.

Since his first round exit at the Australian Open, Bergs has made it to the second round in each of the last four tournaments in which he has competed in. However, the same can be said for Nuno Borges, who also went further than Bergs in that major, making the third round before going down in four sets to Carlos Alcaraz.

This one could go either way. Both Bergs and Borges are playing well and each have a game well-suited to the hard court in Miami. Whilst Bergs has beaten Borges twice already this year, both games went to three sets and backing the same outcome here has to be favoured.
