Ireland’s biggest challenge over the course of this Test match will be firstly adapting to conditions in Bulawayo, which are likely to be extremely batter-friendly with the potential of spin playing a role later in the game. Secondly, the Irish players need to show physical and mental resilience in the midst of extremely hot weather which they won’t be used to.

Taking 20 wickets will be difficult for either of these two teams, but Zimbabwe are the most likely to do it with their players experienced on this ground and getting the most out of the pitch. If they can improve on what we saw from them against Afghanistan, then they may do enough to beat Ireland and backing them is worthy of consideration.
