Yuneisy Duben: Unbeaten Venezuelan aiming to preserve record on UFC debut
Yuneisy Duben (6-0 with one no contest) is coming off her sixth successive win and after knocking out Shannon Clark in Dana White’s Contender Series in September, she now gets her shot in the Octagon. Other than her first pro fight which was a no contest, Duben has won all six of her fights and managed to stop her opponent in each victory with five knockouts and one submission. It will be interesting to see if she can continue that run against better calibre opponents in the UFC.
Carli Judice: Crispy coming off successive split-decision losses
Carli Judice (3-2) was thwarted on her UFC debut last time as she saw a split decision go against her in her bout with Gabriella Fernandes in June. She has come through Dana White’s Contender Series and lost via split decision in that bout but she still got her shot in the Octagon. After three successive knockout wins to start her professional MMA career, she has had two split-decision losses, and she will be desperate to get a win under her belt here.
Yuneisy Duben vs Carli Judice Prediction
It is very rare in women’s MMA and at the lightest weight classes that you get a slug fest but there is every chance that this bout between Yuneisy Duben and Carli Judice will be just that.
This will surely be a stand-up bout with both fighters eager to stand and strike. That should make for a highly-entertaining bout. We sense that Judice is marginally the more well-rounded of the two and we like the fact she has a fight in the Octagon under her belt.
We struggle to see this one going the distance and while we have a marginal preference for Judice, our play is on this one not to go to the judges’ scorecards.
Prediction: Fight not to go the distance
