Yunchaokete Bu vs Lorenzo Musetti prediction

Former quarter-finalist Lorenzo Musetti will look for inspiration from a pro-Italian crowd against qualifier Yunchaokete Bu.

The Chinese world number 67 made the main draw in The Principality with straight-sets wins over Nicolai Budkov Kjaer and Albert Ramos, having lost his previous two outings on clay this year in Rio and Bucharest respectively. 

Bu has a winning head-to-head with Musetti having beaten the Italian 6-2 6-4 in the round of 16 in Beijing last year, but Musetti is capable of some inspired tennis at this venue having famously defeated Novak Djokovic in the last 16 back in 2023.

We expect the noise from the Italian contingent in the crowd to bring out the best in Musetti, who has already reached the last eight of a tournament on clay this year at Buenos Aires. 

The number 13 seed will have his sights set on another good run at his second-best Masters 1000 event from a statistical perspective (7-4) and we expect him to progress and level the head-to-head.
