Great Britain’s Jacob Fearnley faces Yunchaokete Bu for the first time on tour hoping to build on a strong start to the clay swing. 

The Brit came through qualifying in the Spanish capital to back up an excellent run to the round of 16 as a lucky loser in Barcelona. 

The 23-year-old has met Bu twice before at a lower level, prevailing on hard and grass last year. 

Bu did beat a Brit when he downed Cameron Norrie in the first round in Miami recently but his form since has been patchy and Fearnley will certainly feel he can have the physical and mental edge as he targets the top 50 as the year progresses.
