Yan Xiaonan vs Virna Jandiroba Prediction
Yan Xiaonan bounced back from her loss to champion Zhang Weili at UFC 300 by beating another contender Tabatha Ricci in her last fight last November. The Chinese star has won three of her last four fights and has proven herself to be one of the best of the rest after Zhang Weili, but she has to fend off another quality contender here if she is to get another shot.
At UFC 314 on Saturday, she meets Brazilian Virna Jandiroba who is on a four-fight win streak coming into this one. She has beaten some quality fighters and comes off a submission win over Amanda Lemos last July. She has a recent mutual opponent in Marina Rodriguez who she beat at UFC 288 in May 2023 by unanimous decision while Yan Xiaonan lost a split decision to the same fighter at UFC 272 in March 2022.
It is Xiaonan who has the edge in power and stand-up but Jandiroba who has the edge in grappling and on the ground. We like Jandiroba’s chances of getting more control in this fight and we think that could just give her the edge to win the decision in what promises to be an incredibly close fight.
