Wolfsburg vs Bayer Leverkusen Prediction

Bayer Leverkusen looked like heading out of the DFB-Pokal in stunning fashion in midweek after going two goals down to 2. Bundesliga side FC Cologne. However, a classic Leverkusen comeback saw them pull a goal back before drawing level in the 96th minute, Patrik Schick scoring on both occasions. The comeback was complete in extra time as substitute Victor Boniface finished the job to send the holders through to the semi-finals.

Now though, the reigning league champions have a tough away clash with Wolfsburg ahead of them in the Bundesliga and with table toppers Bayern Munich victorious on Friday night, they cannot afford to drop points with the gap between the two clubs currently at nine points ahead of their big showdown at the BayArena next weekend.

Wolfsburg come into this game without a win in their last three league fixtures, although they did score in all three games, meaning it’s now 12 Bundesliga matches in a row where they have found the net at least once. So whilst backing Bayer Leverkusen has to be favoured, it would be no surprise to see the hosts grab a goal.
