Wigan vs Fulham Prediction

Shaun Maloney was a part of the Wigan Athletic side that shockingly won the 2013 FA Cup with a victory over Manchester City in the final and now the Latics chase yet another ‘cupset’.

Wigan lost key man Thelo Aasgaard to Luton Town in the January transfer window but did bring in some interesting signings, albeit reportedly missed out on a couple of key targets. Their 1-1 draw at home to Lincoln City last weekend continued their inconsistent run of form with five victories, two draws and four defeats in their last 11 matches across all competitions.

Fulham, on the other hand, most recently came from behind to defeat Newcastle United by two goals to one at St James’ Park last weekend thanks to strikes from Rodrigo Muniz and Raul Jimenez. The Cottagers sit ninth in the Premier League with the top eight spots expected to earn UEFA competition qualification this season.

Fulham have a strong side with a strong squad and if Marco Silva wanted to make 11 changes up in Lancashire then he would still be able to put out a very impressive side. Wigan have little to play for in the league but they are still unlikely to be able to hurt Fulham too much.
