West Ham Preview: Flat Irons
Following the appointment of former Brighton and Hove Albion and Chelsea boss Graham Potter, who replaced Julen Lopetegui in January, West Ham United have generally been floundering as they struggle to become effective under Potter’s stewardship.
The Hammers returned from the March international break in midweek with a lacklustre performance at Molineux against Wolverhampton Wanderers, eventually suffering a 1-0 loss due to a 21st minute strike from Jorgen Strand Larsen.
Bournemouth Preview: Cherries sinking down the table
AFC Bournemouth have been generally very impressive throughout the reign of former Rayo Vallecano boss Andoni Iraola but the Cherries have hit a wall since mid-February and that continued in midweek with a very disappointing performance.
From challenging for the UEFA Champions League they now sit firmly in the middle-of-the-table having also been knocked out of the FA Cup last weekend and they were beaten 2-1 by a poor, relegation-bound Ipswich Town side at the Vitality Stadium in midweek.
West Ham Team News: Some should be fine
Graham Potter has confirmed that both Jean-Clair Todibo and Mohammed Kudus have trained this week and could return for the visit of Bournemouth. Niclas Fullkrug has returned to the squad and played against Wolves, whilst Emerson Palmieri 'should be available' following a knock.
Predicted XI (3-5-2): Areola; Mavropanos, Kilman, Todibo; Wan-Bissaka, Ward-Prowse, Alvarez, Paqueta, Scarles; Bowen, Kudus
Unavailable: Summerville (Injured), Antonio (Injured)
Questionable: Todibo (Fitness), Emerson (Injured), Kudus (Fitness)
Bournemouth Team News: Likely to still be no Kluivert
In his pre-match press conference, a frustrated Andoni Iraola has said that it will be 'difficult' for Justin Kluivert to feature this weekend due to injury. Mexico international defender Julian Araujo is set to return to the squad, whilst the likes of Ryan Christie, Marcus Tavernier, Luis Sinisterra and Enes Unal are all sidelined.
Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Kepa; Smith, Zabarnyi, Huijsen, Kerkez; Cook, Adams; Ouattara, Scott, Semenyo; Evanilson
Unavailable: Christie (Injured), Tavernier (Injured), Sinisterra (Injured), Unal (Injured)
Questionable: Kluivert (Injured)
West Ham vs Bournemouth Prediction
West Ham United have been frustrating to watch for their supporters throughout their campaign, completely losing the effectiveness that they had under David Moyes in recent seasons. They face a Bournemouth side that themselves have collapsed a little bit of late, despite some good performances. Bournemouth will fancy themselves to score against West Ham but West Ham will also fancy themselves, especially at the London Stadium, to punish the poor form of the Cherries.
