Warrington Wolves Team News: Fit-again Fitzgerald returns to squad
Warrington coach Sam Burgess makes one change to the squad which beat Huddersfield Giants in the opening round. Forward Lachlan Fitzgerald underwent surgery in the off-season and was held out as a precaution last week but is considered fit enough to be involved in this match.
Squad: Matty Ashton, Jordy Crowther, Ben Currie, Matt Dufty, Lachlan Fitzgibbon, James Harrison, Adam Holroyd, Toby King, Oli Leyland, Arron Lindop, Zane Musgrove, Joe Philbin, Sam Powell, Stefan Ratchford, Dan Russell, Cai Taylor-Wray, Josh Thewlis, Paul Vaughan, Danny Walker, George Williams, Luke Yates
Catalans Dragons Team News: Navarette misses out with head knock
Dragons boss Steve McNamara will have to do without Romain Navarette after he was ruled out due to concussion protocol for this match. Navarette picked up the knock in the surprising loss to Hull FC last week so Matthieu Laguerre steps in to replace him in what is the only change to the 21 for this trip to Warrington.
Squad: Tommy Makinson, Arthur Romano, Nick Cotric, Luke Keary, Arthur Mourgue, Tevita Pangai, Ben Garcia, Julian Bousquet, Tariq Sims, Elliott Whitehead, Oliver Partington, Alrix Da Costa, Chris Satae, Bayley Sironen, Cesar Rouge, Paul Seguier, Jordan Dezaria, Fouad Yaha, Matthieu Laguerre, Franck Maria, Clement Martin
Warrington Wolves vs Catalans Dragons Prediction
Disregarding the face that was the St Helens vs Salford match last week, Warrington were arguably the one big club that looked to have that extra bit of sharpness and urgency compared to many others last week.
They did not find it easy beating Huddersfield but they pushed hard in the second half to turn it around and eventually got the win. That will serve them well coming into round two and their first match at home as they welcome the uninspiring Catalan Dragons.
The visitors were abysmal last week against Hull FC and will have to put in a much-improved display if they are to have any success here.
Catalans will surely put more of a fight here and improve defensively but it is hard to like them on the handicap with a 14-point start, or take Warrington until they are fully up to speed. Consider low points in this one and the unders.
Warrington Wolves vs Catalans Dragons Tip: Under 35.5 total points
