Viviane Araujo: Brazilian vet needing win after three losses in four

Viviane Araujo (12-6) has lost three of her last four fights and the 37-year-old Brazilian needs a win to reverse this negative trend. She has fought some high-level opponents over the last couple of years including Alexa Grasso and Amanda Ribas. However, those defeats have seen her slip down the rankings and she now faces a tough up-and-coming opponent in compatriot Karine Silva.

Karine Silva: 30-year-old looks to make it ten wins in a row

Karine Silva (18-4) comes into this fight with plenty of confidence having won her last nine fights. The Brazilian got her chance after winning in Dana White's Contender Series in October 2021, and has stepped up to the plate in the UFC winning all four of her fights in the Octagon. Three of those have come via submission but her last fight showcased her skills as a legitimate top ten flyweight contender. She picked up the unanimous decision win over Ariane Lipski in April earlier this year and she will look to build on that against her fellow Brazilian.

Viviane Araujo vs Karine Silva Prediction

This is a fascinating fight in the women's flyweight division as we have two fighters opposite ends of their careers.

Viviane Araujo Is desperate for victory to stay relevant in the division and she's currently on a downward trajectory in the top 10.

Karine Silva is the exact opposite having won her last nine fights and a win here will catapult are closer to the top five in the rankings.

We think Silva is the real deal and we expect her to get the win. It may not be as easy as some of the fights on her CV and Araujo will be no pushover but we think she gains enough Octagon control over the three rounds to get late stoppage or the decision on the scorecards

Prediction: Karine Silva to win by submission or decision
