VENEZIA PREVIEW: STRUGGLING VENETIANS
Following promotion to the top-flight last season, Venezia lost manager Paolo Vanoli to Torino and replaced him with former Roma boss Eusebio Di Francesco. Di Francesco has often been accused of being tactically naïve and that saw his Frosinone side relegated on the final weekend of last season.
The Venetians have begun the 2024/25 campaign with just two victories in their opening 11 matches of this season. They had taken four points from two matches before travelling to San Siro to face defending champions and playing quite well but eventually losing by a goal to nil thanks to a Lautaro Martinez winner.
PARMA PREVIEW: DIFFICULT TO BEAT
Parma gained promotion playing a pleasant on the eye style of football that saw Fabio Pecchia linked with several Serie A jobs but he stayed put at Parma and they collected four points from their opening couple of matches against Fiorentina and AC Milan at the Ennio Tardini but they have won just one game so far this season and that came against Milan.
They have drawn six of their 11 matches so far this season but had a four-draw sequence ended with a really disappointing 1-0 loss to bottom-of-the-table Genoa at the Ennio Tardini last weekend. In that game, Genoa pinched all three points thanks to a 79th minute strike from Andrea Pinamonti.
VENEZIA TEAM NEWS: NOTHING FRESH
The only absentee for Venezia this weekend is Bjarkar Bjarkason but the Iceland international midfielder has been missing throughout this season.
Aside from Bjarkason, the hosts have no other injury concerns or suspension issues so they will be able to name an unchanged eleven for this weekend.
PREDICTED XI (3-5-2): Stankovic; Altare, Svoboda, Idzes; Zampano, Caviglia, Andersen, Crnigoj, Haps; Oristanio, Pohjanpalo
UNAVAILABLE: Bjarkason (Injured)

PARMA TEAM NEWS: KEY ABSENTEES
Former Manchester City man Adrian Bernabe has been excellent for Parma throughout this season but he is now out injured for Parma on a long injury list.
As well as Adrian Bernabe, Parma are also dealing without experienced Brazilian midfielder Hernani as well as the likes of Mateusz Kowalski and Alessandro Circati.
PREDICTED XI (4-3-3): Suzuki; Coulibaly, Del Prato, Balogh, Valeri; Nahuel Estevez, Keita, Sohm; Man, Bonny, Mihaila
UNAVAILABLE: Circati (Injured), Kowalski (Injured), Mohamed (Injured), Hernani (Injured), Adrian Bernabe (Injured)
QUESTIONABLE: Valenti (Injured)
VENEZIA VS PARMA PREDICTION
Eusebio Di Francesco finally slightly adjusted his style of football in the latter stages of last season whilst at Frosinone and Venezia haven’t been as gung-ho. It is more pragmatic but that means targeting games and this will be a game they must surely target for three points. Parma, though, should therefore enjoy space on the counter-attack so both teams scoring may well be a good bet for this one in Venice.
