Venezia Preview: Solid foundation in Venice
Former Roma boss Eusebio Di Francesco oversaw the relegation of Frosinone last season with Frosinone’s naïve and attacking style becoming stubborn towards the end of the campaign but the tactical shift happened too late in the season to save them.
Venezia will hope Di Francesco, who has once again shifted from an overly attacking style to being very reactive in a very similar way to last season, has reacted quick enough this year. They have earned three goalless draws against Napoli, Atalanta and Lazio in the last month.
Bologna Preview: Italiano’s job
After finishing fifth and qualifying for the UEFA Champions League last season under the management of Thiago Motta, who has recently been sacked by Juventus, are arguably even better than that historic campaign with former Fiorentina boss Vincenzo Italiano at the helm.
Bologna have been excellent and difficult to beat throughout the campaign and now begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting in the top four, following an impressive 5-1 demolition of Lazio a couple of weeks ago before the November international break.
Venezia Team News: Key absentees
Juventus’ midfield loanee Hans Nicolussi Caviglia is missing through suspension for this weekend, whilst the likes of Filip Stankovic, Michael Svoboda and Domen Crnigoj are all sidelined due to injury.
Predicted XI (3-5-2): Radu; Schingtienne, Idzes, Cande; Zerbin, Duncan, Busio, Kike Perez, Ellertsson; Fila, Oristanio
Unavailable: Stankovic (Injured), Svoboda (Injured), Caviglia (Suspended), Crnigoj (Injured)
Questionable: Sverko (Injured), Maric (Injured)
Bologna Team News: Castro suspended
Bologna have been very impressive this season and Santiago Castro has been excellent up-front, replacing Joshua Zirkzee who joined Manchester United last summer, but he is missing this weekend due to suspension.
Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Skorupski; Calabria, Beukema, Jhon Lucumi, Juan Miranda; Freuler, Ferguson; Orsolini, Odgaard, Ndoye; Dallinga

Venezia vs Bologna Prediction
Venezia have been very defensive throughout the last couple of months with Eusebio Di Francesco making tactical shifts that have got supporters believing they can begin to put victories on the board. Bologna, without Castro, will have to do what the likes of Napoli, Atalanta and Lazio couldn’t and simply score past a new look stubborn Venetian side. Venezia don’t look a threat, though, so still siding with Bologna remains the way to go for this one.
