Valencia Preview: Improving Valencians
In December, Valencia took the decision to sack manager Ruben Baraja and replaced him with West Bromwich Albion boss Carlos Corberan. There has been an improvement in their performance level but they remain tucked inside the bottom three.

Under the management of Borja Jimenez, Leganes, who gained promotion to the top-flight of Spanish football last season, begin the 23rd match day of the 2024/25 La Liga campaign sitting a couple of points and places outside of the bottom three and the relegation places.

This is a huge game down at the bottom end of La Liga with Valencia under immense pressure to avoid just their second relegation of all time. The Valencians have been underwhelming and circling the drain for the last few years. They now face a Leganes side that have proven themselves to be competitive enough to seem like they will avoid the drop but they will go just two points clear of Valencia if they lose this one. Valencia, with home advantage and their recent improvement, should be seen as slight favourites for this one.
