Uruguay Preview: Problems in front of goal

Excluding a pair of penalty shoot-out victories, Uruguay are winless in their last eight games overall, and haven't scored in their last four qualifiers, so Marcelo Bielsa really needs to see an improvement in this November double-header.

Despite their recent lacklustre form, Uruguay remain in a relatively strong position in the table when it comes to their World Cup qualification hopes, having lost just twice in their ten games to date.

Colombia Preview: Poised to qualify

Colombia endured a mixed international window last month, suffering a shock 1-0 defeat at the hands of Bolivia - their only qualification loss so far - but following that with a resounding 4-0 success over Chile.

Ahead of this fixture in Montevideo, Nestor Lorenzo's side have won just one of their five away qualifiers in the current cycle, and haven't won a game in Uruguay this century.

Uruguay vs Colombia Prediction

Colombia have not historically had a great deal of success in their opponents' backyard, but given the hosts' troubles in front of goal, this could be the perfect opportunity for them to buck the trend and record their first win in Uruguay in the 21st century.

Away wins in CONMEBOL qualifying may be fairly rare, but given the factors at play, a cautious bet on Colombia could be worth a look.
