Ugo Humbert vs Nicolas Jarry prediction

Ugo Humbert suffered with an injury to his finger during his first-round match against Alexei Popyrin in Monte-Carlo. The Frenchman won the first set but struggled with the pain as the match wore on and eventually lost 3-6 7-6 6-4 to the Australian after nearly three hours.

Despite concerns that he may need to rest his hand for a few weeks, Humbert is adamant he can still compete. He faces Nicolas Jarry in the first round here.

Jarry is not in form at all, with three successive losses, the last two being on clay. He suffered an early loss in Bucharest despite being the fourth seed and couldn’t improve against Grigor Dimitrov in the first-round at Monte-Carlo, losing 6-3 6-4.

Humbert does lead the head-to-head 2-0 but they’ve never played on clay before. If the Frenchman’s injury can be managed throughout the match, we fancy him to make it through against an out-of-form Jarry.
