Udinese Preview: Improved Friulians

Under the management of former Legia Warsaw boss Kosta Runjaic, Udinese begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting just outside of the top-half, sitting below Torino on goal difference, with an impressive 40 points collected from their 31 matches.

The Friulians do, though, come into this one on the back of three successive defeats in Serie A either side of the March international break. They were most recently beaten 1-0 by Genoa in Genoa last weekend due to a 77th minute Alessandro Zanoli strike.

AC Milan Preview: Ruined Rossoneri

Sergio Conceicao is already under pressure as AC Milan boss after coming in in early-January and winning the Supercoppa Italiana in his first two matches with come from behind victories against Juventus and Internazionale but they have more or less collapsed in Serie A.

As well as UEFA Champions League elimination at the hands of Feyenoord, the Rossoneri have been inconsistent in the league throughout the Conceicao reign as they sit four points adrift of Fiorentina in the top eight and potential European spots in Italy.

AC Milan have a deep squad that lacks a clear hierarchy throughout it and they have some key issues in attack for this weekend now with Mexico international striker Santiago Gimenez sidelined alongside England international striker Tammy Abraham.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Walker, Tomori, Thiaw, Hernandez; Musah, Fofana; Pulisic, Reijnders, Leao; Jovic

Udinese vs AC Milan Prediction

Udinese started the season with quite an entertaining style of football that has since become quite defensive with more of an emphasis on keeping things tighter at the back. They now face an AC Milan side that lack a clarity and cohesion in the final third and are now trying to adapt to Conceicao’s more reactive and defensive style of football so a lower scoring affair in which the Friulians may well appear a good bet for this one against an unconvincing Milan side at the Bluenergy Stadium.
