Toulouse attempt to play quite an attractive style of football as they push for a top-half finish against a Stade Brest side that have seen their season fade away in the last couple of months.

Toulouse Preview: Easy on the eye Toulouse

Carlos Martinez Novell and his Toulouse side sit firmly in the middle-of-the-table ahead of the 27th match day of the 2024/25 Ligue 1 campaign. They have been easy on the eye to watch but are often inconsistent within games let alone over the course of a few weeks.

The home team come into this one on the back of a 2-1 defeat to Strasbourg at Stade de la Meinau in their most recent outing a couple of weeks ago before the March international break in a game in which they took a third minute lead via Frank Magri.

Brest Preview: Eric Roy’s fairytale

Under the management of former Sunderland player Eric Roy, Stade Brest were very impressive in defying all of the odds to finish third and qualify for the UEFA Champions League last season with one of the smallest budgets in Ligue 1.

However, their European fairytale was ended in February with a 10-0 aggregate loss to Paris Saint-Germain in the knockout playoffs of that competition and that was soon backed up by a disappointing defeat to Ligue 2 side Dunkerque in the quarter-finals of the Coupe de France.

Toulouse Team News: No Magri

Cameroonian international striker Frank Magri, who opened the scoring in that aforementioned defeat to Strasbourg the other day, is now missing through suspension for this one, whilst Zakaria Aboukhlal remains a doubt, too.

Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Haug; Sidibe, Cresswell, McKenzie; Donnum, Cristian Casseres Jr, Sierro, Suazo; Babicka, Gboho; King

Unavailable: Nicolaisen (Injured), Schmidt (Injured), Magri (Suspended)

Questionable: Restes (Injured), Aboukhlal (Injured)

Brest Team News: Couple of suspensions

As they make the trip to Stadium de Toulouse this weekend, Brest are without both Massadio Haidara and Hugo Magnetti due to suspension. They also have some key doubts such as Bradley Locko and Romain Del Castillo.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Bizot; Lala, Le Cardinal, Ndiaye, Zogbe; Camara, Lees-Melou, Fernandes; Faivre, Ajorque, Pereira Lage

Unavailable: Chardonnet (Injured), Haidara (Suspended), Magnetti (Suspended)

Questionable: Coulibaly (Injured), Locko (Injured), Del Castillo (Injured), Balde (Injured), Salah (Injured)

Toulouse vs Brest Prediction

Toulouse, as mentioned, attempt to play a proactive and attacking style of football. They will seek to continue that against Stade Brest this weekend with a little less jeopardy on the final couple of months of the campaign. Brest, though, despite their cup exits and the meaning of their season being diminished, do remain in contention for potential European qualification once again and both teams scoring may well be a good bet for this one.
