Tottenham Preview: Poor Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur come into this one on the back of being absolutely annihilated by five goals to one at Anfield by Liverpool, despite taking a 12th minute lead via Dominic Solanke, as the Reds clinched the 2024/25 Premier League title at the weekend.

Ange Postecoglou’s side overcame Eintracht Frankfurt in the quarter-finals of this tournament with a surprise 1-0 win in Germany but they have been miserable domestically and could finish as low as 17th this season with four games to go.

Bodo/Glimt Preview: Historic Bodo

Norwegian champions Bodo/Glimt have been excellent for the last few years as they continue to punch above their weight in European competition. Domestically they have remained strong, too, as they manage three victories and a draw in their first four games of the season.

In the quarter-finals of the UEFA Europa League, Bodo/Glimt defeated Lazio by two goals to nil in the first-leg on their plastic pitch up in the Arctic Circle before then being taken to penalties by the Italians in the second-leg but winning out in the shootout at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.

Tottenham Team News: Son still a doubt

Tottenham Hotspur have had an injury crisis at times this season but they have only one confirmed absentee this time around with Radu Dragusin still sidelined, whilst Son Heung-min remains a doubt for the hosts. They made eight changes at the weekend but will be full strength for this one.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Vicario; Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Spence; Bissouma, Bentancur; Kulusevski, Maddison, Johnson; Solanke

Unavailable: Dragusin (Injured)

Questionable: Son (Fitness)

Bodo/Glimt Team News: Key suspensions

Ahead of their trip to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Bodo/Glimt are having to deal with several suspension issues to key players for this weekend such as midfield duo Patrick Berg and Hakon Evjen. As well as those two being unavailable, striker Andreas Helmersen is also sidelined for the visitors.

Predicted XI (4-4-2): Khaikin; Sjovold, Bjortuft, Gundersen, Bjorkan; Brunstad Fet, Auklend, Saltnes, Hauge; Maatta, Hogh

Unavailable: Evjen (Suspended), Berg (Suspended), Helmersen (Suspended)

Questionable: Bassi (Injured), Vetti (Injured)

Tottenham vs Bodo/Glimt Prediction

Tottenham Hotspur have a genuine chance to win the UEFA Europa League this season and getting to the final is something they are expected to do, as astonishing as that is. Bodo/Glimt have overachieved throughout the campaign and will not remotely fear such an average Spurs side. However, with their home advantage and Bodo suffering from so many suspensions, Spurs should take a first-leg lead to the Arctic Circle in what should be an entertaining clash for the neutral in north London.
