Torrez Finney vs Robert Valentin Prediction
We have an intriguing clash of styles in this middleweight fight between the short and compact Torrez Finney and the tall and rangey Robert Valentin.
Both Finney and Valentin have come through Dana White’s Contender Series and The Ultimate Fighter respectively and it will be fascinating to see how the duo measure up in the fight on Saturday night in Vegas.
Finney brings an unbeaten 10-0 record into the Octagon this weekend and not only is he a strong grappler, but he possesses good knockout power having won seven of his ten fights by knockout. The American will be full of confidence coming into this fight and is the fighter with real momentum behind him out of the two.
Valentin lost in The Ultimate Fighter finale last August and has been quite vocal about his mental struggles following that loss. The Swiss fighter suffered a TKO loss at the hands of Ryan Loder and he struggled to cope with his grappling. It will be interesting to see how he handles Finney here.
Valentin’s best route to victory here will be to take it the distance and outwork Finney but he will have to evade Finney’s impressive power. At times, Valentin has that invincible look about him but on others, he looks fragile.
This may not be a good matchup for him in many ways and we have to side with Finney in this one. We see him controlling this fight in all areas and we expect him to get the victory.
Prediction: Torrez Finney to win by KO/TKO or decision
