Torino Preview: Mid-table Torino

Under the management of former Venezia boss Paolo Vanoli, Torino come into this one on the back of a hard-fought and impressive 1-1 draw with high-flying Atalanta at the Gewiss Stadium last weekend with Guillermo Maripan cancelling out Berat Djimsiti’s opener.

The home team have now won one and drawn five of their last six matches. They have managed just one victory in their last 14 games with one of those coming via a half-way line strike by Che Adams and the other coming at home against struggling Cagliari.

Genoa Preview: Slight dip for Genoa

Following the appointment of Patrick Vieira during the November international break, Genoa have been much-improved as they have propelled themselves away from the bottom three and the relegation places and into the middle-of-the-table.

However, the Genovese do come into this one on the back of a second defeat in their last three matches with a 2-1 loss at the Artemio Franchi against Fiorentina in a game in which Moise Kean and Albert Gudmundsson helped Fiorentina race into a 2-0 lead inside 30 minutes.

Torino Team News: Adams the main man

Scotland international and former Southampton forward Che Adams is a key man for Torino and has established himself as the main man this season. That is especially crucial because Colombia international Duvan Zapata is out until the end of the season due to an ACL injury.

Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Milinkovic-Savic; Pedersen, Guillermo Maripan, Saul Coco; Lazaro, Ricci, Tameze, Sosa; Vlasic, Karamoh; Adams

Unavailable: Schuurs (Injured), Duvan Zapata (Injured)

Questionable: Ilic (Injured)

Genoa Team News: De Winter a suspension

Genoa defender Koni De Winter is missing for this weekend’s trip to Torino due to suspension. As well as the absence of De Winter, Ukraine international Ruslan Malinovskiy and Ivory Coast international Maxwel Cornet are both unavailable.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Leali; Sabelli, Zanoli, Johan Vasquez, Caricol; Masini, Frendrup; Junior Messias, Thorsby, Miretti; Pinamonti

Unavailable: Otoa (Injured), De Winter (Suspended), Malinovskiy (Injured), Cornet (Injured)

Questionable: Bani (Injured), Balotelli (Injured)

Torino vs Genoa Prediction

Torino parted company with now Southampton boss Ivan Juric last summer because of the frustrating style of football and generally stagnating results. They have, though, once again struggled for goals having scored just 24 in 23 matches. They now face a Genoa side that have, surprisingly, started the Vieira reign by focusing on defensive responsibilities and they are the third lowest scorers in Serie A so a low-scoring affair is to be expected for this one in Piedmont.

Torino vs Genoa Tip: Under 2.5 goals
