Torino Preview: Mid-table Torino
Last season, after finishing ninth in Serie A, Torino decided to part company with Ivan Juric due to a lack of goals with just 36 scored and 36 conceded. This time around, they begin the weekend sitting 11th, with a slight up-tick in terms of the goals per game involving Torino.
The home team come into this one on the back of a 2-2 draw with an improved Parma side last weekend at the Ennio Tardini with Eljif Elmas and Che Adams on the scoresheet. They have lost just one of their last 11 Serie A matches.
Empoli Preview: Collapse of Empoli
Roberto D’Aversa took charge of Empoli last summer and the former Benevento and Lecce coach began very well with the Florence-based club in the top-half for the opening few months of the campaign but they have collapsed in Serie A, amid reaching the semi-finals of the cup.
Empoli most recently suffered a 1-0 defeat at home to Roma last weekend thanks to a first minute goal scored by Matias Soule. That loss means they are now winless in their last 13 matches in the league since beating Hellas Verona in early-December.
Torino Team News: Long-term issues
Torino have long-term injury absentees at both ends of the pitch as centre-back Perr Schuurs remains sidelined alongside Colombia international striker Duvan Zapata, due to ACL injuries. Tonny Sanabria is also a doubt for this weekend.

Questionable: Tonny Sanabria (Injured)
Empoli Team News: Several absentees
Empoli are dealing with several injuries as they travel to Turin this weekend with absentees across the pitch for Empoli. Midfielders such as Youssef Maleh and Szymon Zurkowski are sidelined alongside the likes of Ola Solbakken and Pietro Pellegri.

Torino vs Empoli Prediction
Torino have been a little more proactive this season under what is the intended efficient coaching of Antonio Conte-disciple, Paolo Vanoli. They now welcome an Empoli side that have reached the semi-finals of the Coppa Italia with a recent penalty shootout victory over Juventus in Turin the other week but this return trip to Turin comes against genuinely more solid opposition at the moment that will believe they can ease themselves closer to the top seven with a low-scoring affair.
