Tomas Martin Etcheverry vs Flavio Cobolli Prediction

Flavio Cobolli made significant strides on tour last year and entered the top 32 in the world for the first time in his career off the back reaching his first ATP final and featuring in all four majors, where he progressed beyond the first round on each occasion.

The Italian, who reached the third round on his Australian Open debut last year, raised concerns about his condition ahead of this year's tournament after injury forced him to withdraw midway through his first-round encounter with compatriot Luca Nardi in the ASB Classic earlier in the week.

2024 was a solid year by all accounts for Tomas Martin Etcheverry, who reached the third round in three of the four Grand Slams, including the Australian Open where he defeated Andy Murray and Gael Monfils before losing to Novak Djokovic.

The Argentine had some decent preparation for this year’s event by reaching the last 16 at the Adelaide International, where he lost a highly entertaining contest against local star Thanasi Kokkinakis in the deciding set. That will have prepared him well for this first-round encounter, where he can take at least a set against an opponent whose physical condition may not be optimal.
