Tomas Martin Etcheverry vs Corentin Moutet prediction

Tomas Martin Etcheverry is struggling for form this season, losing in both the first round of Indian Wells and Miami. His South American clay court swing was also disappointing, with his best finish being at the Chile Open where he reached the quarter-finals. He suffered early losses in Argentina and Rio to Joao Fonseca and Alexandre Muller respectively.

Corentin Moutet has not maintained his level from the start of the year, which saw him make the third round of the Australian Open. He lost early on in all three of the South American clay court events in February and could only reach the second round of both the Sunshine Double events.

However, the Frenchman did perform well in qualifying for this event, staging something of an upset to beat second seed David Goffin 2-6 7-6 7-5, and that will give him confidence.

Etcheverry won the only meeting between the pair in Rio two months ago, a straight-sets win in the first round. The Argentine is not in great form and we’re expecting a close match, but we think he will repeat the feat and get his Monte-Carlo campaign off to a winning start.
