Tomas Machac vs Brandon Nakashima Prediction
Tomas Machac overcame the potential banana skin of Learner Tien in the quarter-finals to get past the talented 19-year-old 6-3 7-5 to set up a semi-final clash with Brandon Nakashima.
Machac has been in good form all week and facing his compatriot Jakub Mensik in the first round ensured he was focused right from the start of the week.
He takes on Brandon Nakashima who has had the kinder route to the semi-finals. He beat Benjamin Bonzi in straight sets in the first round and then got the walkover after Holger Rune retired with a stomach bug when Nakashima was leading 3-0. Nakashima then beat David Goffin in the quarters with the veteran Belgian a little fatigued but still competitive.
Nakashima is likely to be the fresher of the two players but Machac has arguably been playing at the higher level so far this week. This may be one to assess early in the match to see how both players look but assuming Machac is at the same level, we favour him to win and make it through to the final.
