Tomas Machac vs Alejandro Davidovich Fokina Prediction

Tomas Machac has had a really good week in Mexico and the Czech star will be hoping to seal his first-ever singles title on the ATP Tour. He has only once before reached a final which came in Geneva last year but he was beaten by Casper Ruud.

His confidence has grown with every win this week and he really dug deep to beat Brandon Nakashima in the semi-finals in three sets.

He now takes on Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina who has been impressive for a good few weeks now.

The 25-year-old beat the in-form Denis Shapovalov 7-6 7-6 in the semi-finals and that was an excellent win given how well the Canadian has been of late.

Similar to Machac, Davidovich Fokina is chasing his first-ever ATP singles title having ready two finals before but losing both. He made the final in Delray Beach just a couple of weeks ago but lost to Miomir Kecmanovic and he will be desperate to get one over the line here.

Our preference is for Alejandro Davidovich Fokina to win here. The Spaniard has been playing at a really high level for a good few weeks and his return game against Machac’s serve can be the differentiating factor in sealing the title.
