Tom Nolan: Big Train seeks to make it three wins in a row

Tom Nolan (8-1) is coming off back-to-back wins in the UFC and the Australian will be determined to make it three in a row on home soil. After suffering a TKO loss on his UFC debut to Nikolas Motta, Nolan has responded really well and picked up a TKO win of his own against Victor Martinez and then a unanimous decision win over Alex Reyes at UFC 305. The 24-year-old from Brisbane will see this as a golden opportunity to catapult himself up the rankings in the lightweight division.

Viacheslav Borshchev: Slava looking to build on split decision win

Viacheslav Borshchev (8-4-1) is coming off a much-needed win over James Llontop in August and he will be hoping to follow that up here. It was a split decision win and not the most comfortably of victories but valuable nonetheless after three defeats in his previous five fights. He has now gone 3-3-1 since making it into the UFC and he will want another win to stay relevant.

Tom Nolan vs Viacheslav Borshchev Prediction

This is one of the most evenly-matched fights on the card at UFC 312 according to the bookmakers and it should make for excellent viewing.

Tom Nolan will have plenty of crowd support behind him and that will spur him on but Viacheslav Borshchev will enjoy playing the role of spoiler.

It is Borshchev who comes in as the marginal favourite but we find it hard to back him. Nolan has multiple factors in his favour and there is good value in him as the underdog. Consider a small play on him in this one.

Prediction: Tom Nolan to win
