THE PREDICTION

In what is arguably the weakest group on paper, New Zealand and South Korea will be eager to get off to a good start. It is South Korea that are favoured to top the group but they will not have it all their own way against a New Zealand that can count on star men Winston Reid and Chris Wood to lead them. Danny Hay’s men will compete with all the teams in the group and they will feel like they have a legitimate chance of getting out of this group themselves. Korea however are the more fancied and they have an excellent record at this level. They will be wary of the height in the Kiwi ranks and this could turn out to be a cagey tactical affair without either side willing to over-commit. Expect very few goals in this opener which could be a candidate for under 2.5 goals.
