Togo vs Mauritania Prediction

Togo, as mentioned, remain without a win in their opening four matches of CAF qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup with three draws and a defeat thus far as they take on a Mauritania side that have shared one draw with three defeats in their opening four matches.

The Togolese, under the management of Dare Nibombe, who has recently replaced Paulo Duarte, are currently ranked 119th in the world according to FIFA. ‘The Sparrowhawks’, as they are nicknamed, most recently suffered a defeat to Niger on away goals in their two-legged African Nations Championship qualifier in December.

They now face a Mauritania side that have failed to score as well as failed to win in their opening four matches. They have qualified for each of the last three CAF Africa Cup of Nations tournaments and even reached the knockout stages for the first time in the Ivory Coast last year but they have seemingly massively regressed in the last 12 months.

These are two limited sides struggling to keep pace in their FIFA World Cup qualifying group and they have combined for just two goals thus far and a low-scoring encounter appears inevitable.

Togo vs Mauritania Tip: Under 2.5 goals
