Thibault Tricole vs Joe Comito Prediction

Thibault Tricole became the French player to play at the World Championships last year and he managed to get a win under his belt as he overcame Mario Vandenbogaerde. He has had a solid year in 2024 having reached his first ranking semi-final at the Players Championship and he will be eager to get the win and earn a shot at champion Luke Humphries later in the evening.

Joe Comito makes his World Championships debut after he qualified via the DartPlayers Australia ProTour back in September. The 43-year-old newcomer will be fired up to put in a good showing and will feel he has nothing to lose after qualifying for the first time.

If Comito can somehow repeat the heroics that saw him qualify, he can certainly pull off a shock here. But he really will need to hit the ground running. It is Tricole who is favoured to get the win and earn a second-round clash with Humphries.
