YUE YUAN VS ARYNA SABALENKA PREDICTION
Yue Yuan is becoming a familiar name on the WTA Tour with the 25-year-old enjoying a real breakthrough year on the circuit. Although she has not performed to her best at the Grand Slams, she reached the quarter-finals off the 1000-rated Indian Wells Masters earlier this year, while she won her first WTA title at the ATX Open back in March. The Chinese star’s first-round match here in Toronto saw her progress in straight sets at the expense of Spain’s Cristina Bucsa.
Next up for Yuan is the second-seeded Aryna Sabalenka, who has received a bye into the second round. The Belarusian has achieved plenty of success on hard courts having won the Australian Open in each of the last two editions, and she has previously made the semi-finals here in Toronto.
Despite Yuan’s obvious improvement this year, Sabalenka is a class above most players on tour at the moment and the world number three is likely to advance with a straight-sets win.
