YAFAN WANG VS DAYANA YASTREMSKA PREDICTION

World number 32 Dayana Yastremska came back from a set down to beat Ajla Tomljanovic on Sunday, claiming her first win at Roland-Garros at the fifth attempt, whilst world number 68 Yafan Wang beat Maria Timofeeva to also reach the second round for the first time in three attempts.

Both players enjoyed big results at the Australian open in January, 24-year-old Yastresmka especially repairing her ranking significantly after a run to the semi-finals in which she upset Victoria Azarenka and Marketa Vondrousova, but the Ukrainian has failed to win back-to-back matches since.

30-year-old Wang’s tireless game suits the graft of clay and she should be highly frustrating for Yastremska, whose mentality on court can often be called into question. Back the Chinese to earn at least a set to leave the victor up to chance.
