THE PREDICTION

31-year-old Vasek Pospisil qualified for the Dallas Open as the first seed there and he has taken that momentum through to a first tour-level quarter-final since the Eastbourne International last June. The world number 150 is far better than his current ATP world ranking but he needed all his experience to come back from a set down to beat Jurij Rodionov on Thursday and he faces a tough prospect next. Third seed John Isner came through a tough throwback match against fellow big-serving veteran Kevin Anderson on Thursday via three predictable tiebreaks and he is enjoying a strong campaign alongside Jack Sock in the doubles, The 36-year-old has a stellar record on American soil and he could be the dark horse for the inaugural Dallas Open title come Sunday if his Atlanta Open record is anything to go by.

Isner has won each of the last three meetings with Pospisil to lead the Canadian 4-2 in their head-to-head and taking him to win outright looks the sensible move here. You could add a tiebreak for luck here with five played between them so far this week.
