TOMMY PAUL VS MIOMIR KECMANOVIC PREDICTION
Fourth seed Tommy Paul will be eager to enjoy a good run in Stockholm this week after some below-par form by his standards in recent weeks. He will have expected to have done better on this hard court leg of the ATP Tour and this tournament offers him a chance to build up a bit of momentum.
He beat Laslo Djere 6-2 7-6 in the round of 16 on Wednesday and he faces an old foe in Miomir Kecmanovic who he has met four times previously.
It is the Serb who has edged the head-to-head having won three of those meetings including their only meeting this year which came at the Australian Open. Kecmanovic came from 2-1 down to win the last two sets and edge a five-set thriller. He will fancy his chances of repeating that victory here.
Kecmanovic has beaten Cam Norrie and then Nicolas Jarry to reach this stage and his win over Jarry was more efficient than exceptional. He took two of the three break points he generated but Jarry could only convert two of the seven he engineered. Kecmanovic is unlikely to be afforded the same luxury here against Paul.
Despite the Serb leading the previous meetings, we like Paul’s chances here albeit without huge confidence. Our pick is on games here and we think this one could go the distance.
TOMMY PAUL VS MIOMIR KECMANOVIC TIP: OVER 21.5 GAMES
