TOMMY PAUL VS ALEJANDRO TABILO PREDICTION
Tommy Paul was extremely clinical in his performance over Fabio Fognini in the second round and his all-round game looked really strong. His results over the last few weeks have been wildly inconsistent and the 11th-seed will be looking to string together a few wins in Shanghai.
He meets Alejandro Tabilo who dominated his second-round match against Arthur Rinderknech in similar fashion to Paul albeit not quite as clinical. Tabilo has perhaps lost a little momentum that he had earlier in the year but he is playing plenty of tennis between singles and doubles in recent tournaments.
The pair have met once before and that came earlier this year. Paul won that match at Queen’s on grass 6-3 6-4. With the Chilean arguably in poorer form than he was earlier in the year, the seed has to be favoured to win and progress in this one.
