TOMAS MARTIN ETCHEVERRY VS ARTHUR CAZAUX PREDICTION

World number 29 Tomas Martin Etcheverry enjoyed the best run of his career here last summer, upsetting Alex de Minaur and Borna Coric en-route to the quarter-finals before a four-set exit to Alexander Zverev.

The 24-year-old looked strong in Lyon last week, beating in-form clay-courters Thiago Seyboth Wild and Luciano Darderi en-route to the final, but a three-set exit to 20-year-old Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard leaves him 0-3 in tour finals – suggesting that the Argentine struggles in pressure moments.

21-year-old Arthur Cazaux will be aiming to cause further hurt, backed as he will be by a partisan atmosphere of knowledgeable home fans who will be well aware of Etcheverry’s shortcomings last weekend, but the Frenchman has struggled with his health lately.

Cazaux set a career-high ATP world ranking of 74th after a remarkable run to the round of 16 at the Australian Open in January but he has retired from each of his last two matches, most troublingly after collapsing in Miami Open qualifying in March. Back Etcheverry to win at least two sets as the likelier victor facing an uphill challenge to recalibrate here.
