TOMAS MACHAC VS UGO HUMBERT PREDICTION

Tomas Machac has been one of the form players in Tokyo this week. The 23-year-old has beaten some quality players to reach this far and his straight sets win of Alex Michelsen in the quarter finals on Sunday was particularly impressive.

He now meets Frenchman Ugo Humbert who benefited from Brit Jack Draper being forced to retire through injury in their quarter-final match on Saturday. Humbert won his first two matches in straight sets and was leading Draper 7-5 2-1 before the Brit retired from that match.

The pair have never met before on the ATP tour, but based on their performances this week in Tokyo, our preference is for the Czech player who has been playing at high level all week. Humbert has the quality to be anybody on his day, but Machac has the edge right now and is our pick to win and make the final.
