24-year-old Taylor Fritz is the Dallas Open top seed after setting a career-high ATP world ranking of 19th following his excellent Australian Open campaign. The highest-ranked American male reached the second week of a Grand Slam for the first time last month in a five-set defeat to Stefanos Tsitsipas at the round of 16 stage but he has already beaten the likes of Alexander Zverev, Felix Auger-Aliassime and Cam Norrie this season for some top-level results. World number 70 Marcos Giron came back from a set down to beat Liam Broady on Wednesday after winning the first match of his season in the first round here over Tennys Sandgren. This should be a fairly straightforward victory for Fritz in the form he has been showing over the last few months. He beat Giron in straight sets almost a year ago at the Miami Open and similar fare looks on here.
