TALLON GRIEKSPOOR VS CASPER RUUD PREDICTION

Tallon Griekspoor has cruised through the opening two rounds in Stockholm so far and the Dutchman will relish this opportunity to face Casper Ruud. After beating Pavel Kotov and Jacob Fearnley, Ruud certainly represents a major step up in quality for Griekspoor, but he has shown he is capable of causing an upset.

Ruud has not been at his best of late having been knocked out in his opening match in both the Shanghai Masters and Japan Open. He was solid in his opening win against Lorenzo Sonego on Wednesday and he will be eager to follow that up and build some momentum.

He will be heartened from his previous meetings with Griekspoor. They have met twice on the ATP Tour and Ruud has won both of those including a straight-sets win in the United Cup earlier this year. While Ruud remains wildly unpredictable and does not appear to be playing to his potential or previous high standards right now, he should be good enough to get the win here and progress.
