TALLON GRIEKSPOOR VS ALEXANDER ZVEREV PREDICTION

Tallon Griekspoor has done well to progress through two rounds in Shanghai so far and his win over Australia’s Jordan Thompson in the second round will give him plenty of confidence. He won that match 6-3 6-2 and produced a strong serving display that saw him fire down 10 aces and win 76% on first serve.

He will have to be at his best for his next match as he faces the second seed Alexander Zverev. He has met him five times before and lost four of them so he will know the size of the task he faces. Two of those meetings have come in 2024 at Roland Garros and in Indian Well and Zverev emerged victorious in both of those encounters.

Zverev has not played much tennis since the US Open barring the Laver Cup but he looked strong in the 6-4 6-2 win over Bellucci. He will likely need to ramp things up a bit here as Griekspoor is playing well so far in Shanghai, but Zverev should have too much. We are not ruling out the Dutchman winning a set, but Zverev should progress.
