THE PREDICTION
World number 28 Alejandro Davidovich Fokina put in a stunning run to the quarter-finals of Roland-Garros last season, beating the likes of Casper Ruud and a rising Botic van de Zandschulp before losing in three to Alexander Zverev. The 22-year-old struggled to find that intensity for much of the rest of 2021 but he soared to the Monte-Carlo Masters final last month via a career-best ranking win over Novak Djokovic and impressive results over David Goffin, Taylor Fritz and Grigor Dimitrov. World number 64 Tallon Griekspoor found some of his best form at the start of this season on his favoured hardcourt but more recently he beat Tommy Paul at the Geneva Open this week for a strong result on the clay. ADF remains the solid favourite to come through here as one of the genuine outsiders for another deep run this campaign but Griekspoor is well capable of taking this to four or even five at a push. Take Davidovich Fokina to win outright here.
