THE PREDICTION

There will be a certain amount of needle in this Stockholm Open final between world number five Stefanos Tsitsipas and number 27 Holger Rune after the Dane stunned Tsitsipas in four sets at Roland-Garros this summer. 19-year-old Rune is through to his third tour final after winning his first in Munich this April and more recently finishing runner-up to Marc-Andrea Huesler at the Sofia Open as he continues to improve on hardcourts. Rune has twice come back from a set down to best tough seeds in Cam Norrie and Alex de Minaur but he will face a different version of Tsitsipas here with the Greek in better shape than this summer. Tsitsipas is yet to drop a set this week to reach back-to-back finals on tour, with wins over Andrey Rublev and Hubert Hurkacz on his way to finishing runner-up to Novak Djokovic at the Astana Open last time out suggesting he has level enough to oust Rune. Three sets seem just-about likelier than two but it would be a fair surprise to see Tsitsipas lose here. Back the top seed to win outright.
