STEFANOS TSITSIPAS VS FRANCISCO CERUNDOLO PREDICTION

Stefanos Tsitsipas is the number three seed coming into this Swiss Indoors event in Basel but his struggles in 2024 continue. While results have not been going his way for some time now, the Greek star is staying active and trying to battle his way back into some form.

He beat Thiago Seyboth Wild last week before being knocked out by Jiri Lehecka in Antwerp. He now faces Argentine Francisco Cerundolo in Basel.

His 26-year-old opponent reached the semi-finals in Almaty last week before losing to Gabriel Diallo in straight sets. Cerundolo has a knack of producing a big win every so often but on hard surfaces, he should not really be beating a player of Tsitsipas’ calibre.

It is not quite as clear as that however given Tsitsipas’ form. He struggles for consistency and he will find a degree of pressure on him as third seed which he does not seem overly comfortable with right now also.

We like his preparations more than Cerundolo’s who played in Kazakhstan until Saturday and will have had travel to factor in. Tsitsipas has been close by and should be more settled, and we just about favour him to get the much-needed win here.
