STAN WAWRINKA VS CHARLES BROOM PREDICTION

39-year-old Swiss star Stan Wawrinka returns to Wimbledon for what may be the last time as he faces St Albans native Charles Broom who was handed a wildcard for this year’s championships.

Wawrinka’s form has understandably lacked any consistency for some time now and while he did manage to reach the third round at Wimbledon last year, that was the furthest he has been since 2015. He has been below par this season with a number of defeats in opening rounds of matches and the fact he did not play in any of the build-up grass tournaments prior to Wimbledon does not bode well.

Broom will be fired up on his debut and even more so to play against a great like Wawrinka. The 26-year-old has had more success in doubles but this offers him a golden chance to make a name for himself. Broom can certainly win a set here but Wawrinka should have just too much for him.
