SEBASTIAN KORDA VS TAYLOR FRITZ PREDICTION

It’s been quite a year for Sebastian Korda, who currently boasts a career-high world ranking of 18. The American won his first ATP 500 title just a few days ago when he went all the way at the Washington Open, so his game is clearly in great shape right now. Korda took on Vasek Pospisil in the first round here, but the latter retired early on in the first set due to injury.

Taylor Fritz also has reason to be confident having recently won a bronze medal in the Paris Olympics alongside compatriot Tommy Paul. Seeded number nine in Montreal, Fritz navigated his way past Mariano Navone in the first round and is aiming to reach the third round at this tournament for the third year in succession.

This all-American matchup is one of the most eye-catching of the second round in Montreal, but it is surprisingly only the third time they have met on tour. Fritz has come out on top on both occasions, most recently at the Rome Masters earlier this year on clay, but we’re backing Korda to turn the tide here with the 24-year-old flying right now after his recent success in Washington, and he should be the fresher of the two having seen his opponent retire early on in the first round.
