SEBASTIAN KORDA VS CARLOS ALCARAZ PREDICTION

World number three Carlos Alcaraz was tested throughout the first three sets of his match with impressive qualifier Jesper de Jong on Wednesday, dropping the third to the Dutchman before his opponent struggled with cramping in the fourth. The 21-year-old defended his Indian Wells title in March to look back to his best but a troubling forearm issue has hampered him practically ever since and it is unclear if he has fully recovered from it, especially mentally, as he searches for better tennis.

World number 28 Sebastian Korda is capable of much better tennis than his current ranking suggests but injuries, and inconsistency, have seen him struggle to realise his full potential yet. The 23-year-old needed four sets to oust the returning Soonwoo Kwon on Wednesday but he often finds his best against top players on tour, with a victory over Alcaraz on clay at the Monte-Carlo Open two years ago avenged by the Spaniard at this stage of Roland-Garros a month later.

Alcaraz leads their head-to-head 3-1 but he will have to improve on his second round performance to come through this very tough test, with Korda well aware of his chances here. Back the American to win a set to leave the result well up to chance.
