THE PREDICTION
World number 22 Roberto Bautista Agut was in impressive form at the Swiss Indoors, taking out old foes Andy Murray and Stan Wawrinka before losing in the semi-finals to red-hot Holger Rune. The 34-year-old is a serious contender on all surfaces but indoor conditions have suited his aggressive style in the past and he leads a very convincing head-to-head record over next opponent Tommy Paul 3-0 having never dropped a set to the American. World number 30 Paul is, however, a different player since their last meeting at last summer’s Canada Masters. The 25-year-old reached the round of 16 at a Grand Slam for the first time this season at Wimbledon and beat Carlos Alcaraz in one of the best matches this year on his way to the quarter-finals of this season’s Canada Masters. Paul has struggled a little more recently, though, and RBA’s record makes backing the Spaniard to see off a tough challenge outright look a reasonable risk here.
