World number 99 Yoshihito Nishioka and number 123 Radu Albot are both much better than their current ATP rankings on their respective days. In 26-year-old Nishioka’s case it seems like poor form has hampered him since an incredible five-set victory over John Isner at Wimbledon last season, whilst 32-year-old Albot spent much of last season on the Challenger circuit. There is probably at least four sets in this first round clash between the two but the Moldovan qualified well as the fifth seed there and that momentum, coupled with Nishioka’s four-match losing streak stretching back to October, makes taking Albot to win outright the reasonable call here.
