QUENTIN HALYS VS KAREN KHACHANOV PREDICTION
Quentin Halys comes in this second round match buoyed from his impressive straight sets win over Christopher Eubanks on Wednesday. The qualifier looked incredibly assured and dominated his opponent from start to finish in a match that many expected to be more competitive than it proved to be.
He now faces a sterner test in big-serving Karen Khachanov who benefited from Aslan Karatsev retiring from their first round match. It was proving to be a tough match with Khachanov just winning a third set tiebreak to go 2-1 up and then getting the break early in the fourth. That was enough for Karatsev to call a halt to proceedings after his struggles with injury this year but the writing was on the wall already.
Khachanov played relatively well in that match but will be eager to show an improvement. Halys showed enough in his performance against Eubanks to suggest he can pose some problems for Khachanov who often has dips in matches. Expect Halys to win at least one set but Khachanov is favoured to get the win.
